My philosophy of education is that every student can enjoy learning, if material is taught in a way which resonates with each individual student. It is my goal to establish a sense of excitement for learning in students and leave them wanting to come back to school the next day. I strive to create a respectful classroom in which no question is a dumb question, and therefore students want to participate in classroom discussions.

I connect with the humanist approach of teaching by facilitating learning and assisting students using scaffolding. I believe lesson plans should be organized, but flexible as they must be altered depending on the student’s individual needs. Lessons should be fun and engaging, yet leave students with a clear understanding of the curriculum. I will incorporate all types of learning (direct instruction, cooperative learning, and discovery learning) into my classroom in order to ensure student’s comprehension and overall excitement for learning.
